Author Visits at Schools and Libraries for grades K-5

I love to share my books and songs with students! Most of my presentations are about 45 minutes long, but can be lengthened or shortened as needed to fit your needs. I bring a Google slide presentation for each, and I actively engage with the children through vocabulary lessons, questions along the way, challenges that bring some students to the front, and a fun group song or chant that involves every child. I talk about the Writing Process with each group, going into the appropriate depth for the age group.

I love speaking to smaller groups of 2 or 3 classes at time to aid in discussion, but I am able to do large group assemblies as well, especially when the equipment allows for a quality image on the screen without turning off all the lights.

A tall chair or a stool, two 6-foot or 8-foot tables, a body mic if you have one (or a standing mic), a screen hooked to a laptop for my google slides
